Picture Gallery

To start with, a search for Locomobile and Lykamobile on Google or Bing will find a large set of images from other people.  Here are some of them, with credits to the source if I can remember where they came from.  Not many people will mind reproduction on a non-profit making blog, but if anyone does I can remove their image.

This is the start of the project.  The previous version of the replica from http://www.steamtractionworld.com/ .  This one was driven from John O'Groats to Lands End. This imitated an Edwardian enthusiast who did the same for a bet.  I expect my car to look something like this, but with a different colour scheme.

This is a slightly later 1900 model of the Locomobile with side tiller steering rather than the earlier central tiller.  From  http://theoldmotor.com/?p=5307

This picture shows in the centre a Locomobile sensibly fitted with a hood and a cover for the users’ legs.  Note: no lights, the only brake being a band brake on the differential. From  http://theoldmotor.com/?p=65504 “Photo courtesy of Jack Cable".

The Stanley twins, who designed the original Locomobile steam runabout, and went on to produce the well-know Stanley Steamers.

An original Locomobile with wraparound hood, mudguards and carriage lights.

There are several examples of hoods; one of my supporters thought this was a good idea for a car to be driven in English weather.
  Child's play?
